Military Primary Care Research Network - MPCRN

The military primary care research network (MPCRN) connects medical professionals at 17 family medicine residency training sites within the military health system (MHS). The purpose of the MPCRN is to promote collaborative scientific inquiry within and between clinicians stationed at the various sites.  This helps to not only meet requirements for residency accreditation but also serves to promote a spirit of scientific inquiry within the military family medicine community. The MPCRN facilitates the administration of research studies across multiple sites to help provide meaningful answers to clinical problems that commonly face military primary care physicians.

The MPCRN will:

  • Conduct studies that are relevant to our patients and clinicians
  • Promote scientific knowledge that helps to care for people of all ages, gender, race, and ethnicities
  • Seek to understand what research strategies work with busy primary care clinicians
  • Conduct research on what helps patients choose, implement and maintain healthier lifestyles
  • Building collaborative relationships with colleagues across sites
  • Involve clinical researchers and patients directly to formulate relevant research questions and methodologies
